Mary Catherine Burns is a composer for media based in New York City and Atlanta, GA. Burns has composed original music for a range of media including film, animation, and video games. Her work has been heard in films at various festivals including Sundance, Cannes, SXSW, and the Toronto International Film Festival, and her original score for Scream (2023) was shortlisted for Best Original Score at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles. Burns holds a Master of Music in Film Scoring from the Berklee College of Music and was selected for the 2024-2025 Society of Composers and Lyricists NY Mentor Program. She is a member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers (AWFC) and the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (ASMAC).
